MOUNT OSORSCICA TRIPS
The Osorscica hill overlooks Osor from the adjacent island of Losinj and is a popular hiking route for all outdoors loving visitors, with a wonderful view from the top as a prize for the adventurous.
Just for the guests of House Lana, we have organised a professional guide, as we believe a nice walk in the nature, accompanied with great views of the archipelago could make for a perfect family experience.
You just don't want to miss it!
Our guide is an avid climber, traveller and a nature lover. He is fluent in English, Spanish and French. And, just to mention, also makes some great sandwiches with local ingredients, which alone are well worth a trip :).
We have prepared two core tours sketches, each of them taking different direction to the top, and also some optionals you can include to customize the experience the way you wish.
Both are suitable for people of all age groups (including little children) and of various physical condition levels. You really don't need to be experienced athlete to enjoy some slow paced walking.
(However, every tour can be desigend in a more sporty fashion if you wish so)
Tour description:
Starts at 7am or 7:30am in Osor, House Lana.
Group begins with slow paced walking so everyone can fully enjoy the scents of the sourrunding flora and beautiful vistas of the area. While getting ever closer to the peak of Televrin (588m) with each meter passed you might get a bit tired. Do not worry, a little rest (half an hour) is scheduled somewhere halfway to the top.
During the rest, we will engage in picking some fragrant medicinal herbs (such as sage, immortelle and myrtle) which grow on Osorščica in abundance, and are to blame for a great aromatized air.
After the rest, the walk continues to the very top - Televrin, the summit of the hill which overlooks the islands of Cres, Lošinj, Rab, Silba, Pag, as well as the biggest mountain - Velebit and shores of the Istrian peninsula. If the weather is good, even the biggest mountain of Slovenia - Triglav, can be seen. Enjoying the view with some drinks and sandwiches will make a memorable experience.
Return to Osor is planned in the afternoon hours.
Price of the tour is €35 per adults and €25 for the children (0 - 14). Minimum group size is 5 persons and if the number is lower, flat rate for the trip is €160.
Optionals:
1. Lunch (we suggest the famous Cres lamb) at the restaurant at the top - aditional €15 - €20 per person, depending on the menu (two days advance reservation is required).
2. Sleeping over and return to Osor next morning - additional €35
3. Visiting old military facility
4. Visiting the cave of St. Gaudentius
5. Visiting the church of St. Nicholas
6. Also, there is an option for tour to start in the nearby town of Nerezine from where group will head to the top and go down to the beach on the other side of the hill.
